Once upon a time...

I was painting mythological cherubs playing instruments inside the niches of an amphitheater in the gardens of a villa that once belonged to a general of Napoleon's army, then to french embassy, and finally was bought by my friend's family, who called me to decorate it with affrescos. From the entrance, the view was magnificent, not that far away, from the open portal toward the horizon, barely cut by a subtle vertical trickle of water of a fountain, you could see the far away ocean.

While walking by the italian garden, the song of the giants fountains flowed trought the laberintique paths as a river of voices from an other dimention; as fuanes and mairmaids could talk to each other; especially, when at down, the last sun's rays transform the fountains water in sparkling golden light.

I felt to be at Bomarzo's best days... but no, I was'nt in Italy, nor in Rome, but in the hills of San Carlos, Maldonado, Uruguay. Believe me, this is a country that have many secrets to discover.

There, the villa hides italian geometric gardens, imposing fountains that light up in gold at sunset; and a thousand riddles created to entertain the mind while the soul merges with the magic combination of human master ingenireeingenio and nature.

In those days, I was introduce to the village of Jose Ignacio, and to the firsts pioneers of the area: a fishermen little town then... today a charming and exclusive corner of the world.

Whether we like it or not, human beings tend to return to the places that marked their past; and so, when I walk through the old cobble streets of Colonia del Sacramento, or throught Montevideo, I feel like I'm following the footsteps of my ancestors; who, in the late 1700s, set up the family's commerce shipping offices in Montevideo, from Venice our origine. Later, when Buenos Aires won the "Battle of the Ports" agaisnt Uruguay, they moved to Argentina, for then, yet the Virreynato of the Río de la Plata (years later, everything was burned to the ground by the fire that destroyed the port of Buenos Aires... it wasn't a lucky decision). For this and many other anecdotes, when people ask me what I feel about Uruguay... my mind becomes a blur, overwhelmed by a storm of emotions. The beauty, culture, and warmth of its people stir something deep within me. Without a doubt, its gentle hills remind me of Tuscany, where I trained as an sculptor, a visual artist, and in its cities and countryside, a thousand more facets of European charm awaken sighs; but it isn't Europe, is Uruguay, a magical and unique country in South America.

Those cherubs I painted in the amphitheater marked the beginning  of many chapters to come abroad... months later, that year I moved to Italy to continue my studies at the art academies of Florence and Carrara. Years later, my work for the top fashion designers, in addition to participating in art gallery exhibitions, took me to countless countries. That is why, after more than 30 years abroad, back here, it's with great pleasure that I share with my friends, unique opportunities for exclusive investments in a land like no other, a country with its own time, with stability, security, a solid future; and way of life characterized by the integration of technology, sustainability, and personal well-being, creating a "Smart Living" style that seeks to improve the quality of life with a lower environmental impact, in an environment of unparalleled beauty.
